The Dodgers’s starter Hiroki Kuroda went 4 innings, allowed 8 hits, 2 home runs and 3 earned runs with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Charlie Haeger (3.32), Guillermo Mota (3.53), and James McDonald (4.06) also pitched for the Dodgers. With the win, Duke’s record goes to 11-15, while Kuroda falls to 8-7.
Andy LaRoche provided much of the offense for the Pirates with an incredible 6 runs batted in. In addition to the 11 runs, the Pirates managed 15 hits and committed 2 errors.
