Marlins blank Dodgers 4-0

Wow! What a game you saw last night if you had Florida Marlins tickets, when Josh Johnson threw a no hitter for the WIN_TEAM!! Congratulations to Johnson as well as the Marlins for an incredible accomplishment. You never know what you will see at a baseball game and if you were at Dodger Stadium yesterday you’ll have a story to tell for the rest of your life! Marlins pitcher Josh Johnson (1.70 ERA) got the win, while Hiroki Kuroda (3.87 ERA) took the loss for the Dodgers. Josh Johnson went 8 solid innings for the Marlins, allowed 6 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with one walk and 8 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Marlins was Jose Veras (5.27). The Dodgers’s starter Hiroki Kuroda went 7 innings, allowed 6 hits, one home run and 4 earned runs with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Justin Miller (4.35) also pitched for the Dodgers. With the win, Johnson’s record goes to 9-3, while Kuroda is at 7-7.

In addition to the 4 runs, the Marlins scored 7 hits and committed no errors. Dan Uggla led the Marlins in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Mike Stanton’s one hit. Cody Ross had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Dodgers didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Casey Blake could not get much going at the plate as he left 4 runners on base. The Dodgers got no runs, 6 hits and 2 errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Field Culbreth, Marty Foster, Gary Cederstrom and Ed Hickox. There were 41,947 Dodgers ticket holders in attendance at Dodger Stadium.
